REVISED DHULE URBAN WATER SUPPLY SCHEME

Dhule is ‘A’ class town. As per 2001 Census population is 3,41,473. For Dhule town water is supplied through following sources.

(i) Tapi River Headwork: - Scheme is designed for 140 lpcd. Scheme is completed and handed over to Municipal Council.

(ii) Administrative Approval:

· Scheme is completed and handed over to Dhule Municipal Council for maintenance on 25.9.98.

· Tapi River goes dry in October/ November. Hence this scheme is operated for 5 months only. The water is supplied for remaining period through following sources

· Nakane Tank:- From source. Water is supplied at the rate of 18 MLD through Hanuman Tekadi Water Works.

· Dedergaon Tank- From this source water is supplied @ the rate of 5 MLD.

· Dhule City is getting water at the rate of 75 lpcd in normal Season & 70 lpcd in summer season.

· New Proposed scheme under consideration

· Increasing the capacity of Hanuman Tekadi Water Works from 18 MLD to 35 MLD after increasing the capacity of Nakane Tank.

· Increasing the capacity of Dedargaon Water Works after increasing the capacity of Dedargaon tank.

· The Water Supply of Deopur part of the town is wholly dependent on Tapi river water works. After river goes dry area is not getting water. Hence water supply scheme is proposed having pipeline from Hanuman Tekdi headwork to Deopur ESR ; so that available water will be distributed evenly.
