IWWA Awards 2009 (41st Annual convention, Hyderabad)

          The Indian Water Works Association (IWWA) is a voluntary body of professionals concerned and connected with water supply for municipal, industrial, agricultural uses and treatment and disposal of wastewater. IWWA focuses basically on the entire "Water Cycle" encompassing the environmental, social, institutional and financing issues. IWWA was founded in 1968 with headquarters at Mumbai. IWWA has 27 Centres spread across the country and is very active in conducting different activities in the areas of Water Supply and Wasterwater Treatment and Disposal. IWWA has a membership of more than 6500 plus professionals spread all over the country and abroad. To promote new generation and to honour the experienced members to discharge and contribute more in the activities every year various prizes are awarded during the annual convention of IWWA.           This year Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran made a History by bagging 4 IWWA awards. The awards were disitributed at the Hands of Hon. Dr. Y. S. RajaShekhar Reddy, Finance Minister (Andhra Pradesh), on 8th January 2009 at 41st Annual convention of IWWA held at Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University Auditorium , Rajendra nager, Hyderabad.

This prize is given to an Engineer who has done commendable work towards promoting the Sustainability of Water Supply Systems during the last three years. The prize consists of Rs. 5001/- and a Certificate.

This prize is given for exemplary work done in crisis, i.e. Disaster Management in Wter Supply and sanitaiton Sector during last 3 years period. The prize consists of Rs. 5000/- and a Certificate.

The prize is given every year to a young and energetic Engineer whose age is less than 40 years and who has oustanding career and also who has done substantial work for IWWA. The prize consists of Rs. 5000/- and a Certificate.

This prize is normally given to the best Water Works Engineer in the field of Water Loss Reduction and Management of Distribution systems. The prize consists of Rs. 5001/- and a Certificate.
