2. Rules for upgradation of the contractors

2.01  

The contractors who desire for upgradation to higher class should submit their application in proper form alongwith fresh solvency certificate and all other documents required for registration through / to Superintending Engineer (HQ) or concerned Executive Engineer as the case may be and pay fresh registration fee as per rule. The concerned Executive Engineer should submit these proposals alongwith C.Rs. of contractors in the proforma (Annexure ‘H’) to the competent authority with their recommendations.

Certificate copy of existing registration certificate should be enclosed.

 

2.03  

List of Engineering and accounts personnel increased by contractor since his initial registration shall be furnished.

 

2.04  

List of additional machinery increased since his initial registration be indicated.

 

2.05  

If the name of firm of sole proprietorship is changed at the time of upgradation, it is necessary to quote the date in which it is published in Gazette and the copy of the same be furnished.

2.06  

Upgradation from one class to another should be made on merits by the Competent Authority taking into account the cost of works in hand and the annual average turnover. The approximate limits for which are as follows

2.07  

The application for higher caterogry would be considered only if the contractor had carried out atleast one sizeable works of the Jeevan Pradhikaran or other Semi Government bodies where the value of work is more than the maximum limit of the next lower category in which the contractror is already registered.

 

2.08  

The contracotr’s upgradation to higher category should not normally be considered within 1st two years of registration.

Upgradation given will be valid for a period of three years form the date of order sanctioning the upgradation unless there are adverse circumstances.
